Recipe - Gold Layer Cake

2 teaspoon Baking powder
One fourth teaspoon Salt
One half cup Butter
1 cup Sugar
3 Egg yolks
1 teaspoon Vanilla
Three fourths cup Milk
Preheat oven to 375F. Have all ingredients at room temp. Sift flour &
resift with baking powder & salt. Add butter & cream till soft. Add sugar
gradually & cream till light. Beat in egg yolks. Add vanilla or lemon
flavouring. Add flour mixture to butter migxture in 3 parts, alternating
with milk. Stir batter smooth after each addition. Bake in greased layer
pans about 25 min. Spread LEMON FILLING between layers when cool. Frost
