3 Three fourths cup Flour
Three fourths cup Sugar
Three fourths tablespoon Baking powder
One half tablespoon Baking soda
One half tablespoon Cinnamon
One half tablespoon Ground ginger
1 teaspoon Ground cloves
1 teaspoon Salt
2 Eggs
1 One half cup Hot water
1 One half cup Molasses
One fourth cup Oil
1 Recipe lemon curd; see
recipe
Julienned candied ginger;
for garnish
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9inch by 12inch baking
dish. Sift dry ingredients together into a bowl. Add the wet ingredients
and mix until smooth. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 35 to 40
minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.
Serve with Lemon Curd and strips of candied ginger.
