Recipe - Ginger Dough

1 One half cup Granulated sugar
1 One half cup Shortening
1 lg Egg
12 ounce Molasses
1 One half tablespoon White vinegar
6 One half cup All purpose flour
2 One fourth teaspoon Baking soda
One half teaspoon Salt
3 tablespoon Ground ginger
3 teaspoon Ground cloves; up to 4
Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg and beat. Beat in molasses and vinegar.
Sift together baking soda, salt, ginger, cloves, cinnamon. Add to mix and
cream. Add flour all at once and stir just until flour is blended.
Refrigerate until ready to use. This dough must be used CHILLED.
