Recipe - Gilded Onions

4 Onions
HONEY MUSTARD SAUCE
One fourth cup Honey; liquid
1 teaspoon Soy sauce
1 teaspoon Mustard; Dijon
BROWN SUGAR GLAZE VARIATION
One half cup Brown sugar packed
2 tablespoon Butter
2 Tbsp water
cut off tops and botooms of onions, remove skin. Place onions in saucepan
and add enough water to come to depth of 1". Cover and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to medium and cook for 30 minutes. Drain and transfer onions to
small greased casserole.
HoneyMustard Sauce: In small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce and
mustard; cook over medium heat, stirring for 5 minutes. Pour over onions
and bake, uncovered in 350F oven, basting occaisionally, for 30 to 40
minutes till heated through and glazed. Cut each onion in half to serve.
Variation: Brown Sugar Glaze. In small saucepan, combine One half cup brown
sugar, 2 Tbsp butter and 2 Tbsp water, cook as above and pour over onions
before baking.
