Recipe - German Rolls

4 cup Flour; AllPurpose
1 cup Shortening
2 tablespoon Sugar
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
2 teaspoon Cream Of Tartar
Three fourths cup Skim Milk
Three fourths cup Water
1 lg Egg; beaten slightly
1 cup Sugar; Brown
One half cup Flour; AllPurpose
One half cup Walnuts; chopped
One half cup Raisins
Mix 4 cup flour, shortening, sugar, salt, soda and cream of tarter with
water and milk (may take a little more than the 1 cup liqud). Roll out
dough in jelly roll fashion. FILLING Mix together egg, brown sugar and
One half cup flour. Spread on rolled out dough. Roll up like a jelly roll and
cut into 1" slices. Bake at 450 for 12 minutes.
