Recipe - Frosties

1 cup Butter; (no substitutes)
One half cup Sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla
2 One fourth cup AIIpurpose flour
Miniature semisweet
chocolate pieces
Rolled fruit leather; cut
into 3inchlong thin
strips
Decorating Icing
1. BEAT butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30
seconds. Add sugar, vanilla, and One fourth teaspoon salt; beat till combined.
Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in any
remaining flour with a wooden spoon. For each snowman, shape dough into
three balls: one 1inch ball, one 3/4inch ball, and one 1/2inch ball.
2. PLACE balls on an ungreased baking sheet in decreasing sizes with edges
touching. Press together slightly. Insert two chocolate pieces in smallest
ball for eyes, one in middle ball and two in largest ball for buttons. Bake
in a 325 degree oven for 18 to 20 minutes or till done. Carefully remove
and cool on wire racks.
3. FOR HAT, flatten a gumdrop to a thin oval shape (about I1/2x1 inches).
Roll oval into a cone shape. Pinch ends together. Roll up bottom edge of
cone to form hat brim. Attach to head with Decorator icing. Wrap a fruit
leather strip around each snowman's neck. Pipe brooms and faces with
Decorator Icing.
DECORATING ICING: Stir together I cup sifted powdered sugar and 1
tablespoon milk. Stir in a little additional milk till it reaches piping
consistency. Tint with paste food coloring.
NOTES : Frosties love a snowy forecast, but they'll melt in your mouth
whatever the weather!
