Recipe - Fried Bread Puffs (Sopaipillas)

2 tablespoon Lard
2 cup Flour
2 teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Salt
2/3 cup Lukewarm water
Veg oil
Cut lard into flour, powder and salt completely. Sprinkle in water, 1
Tbls. at a time, tossing with fork until all flour is moistened and
dough almost cleans side of bowl. Gather dough into ball. Cover and
refrigerate 30 minutes. Heat oil (12") to 400 degrees. Roll dough on
lightly floured surface into rectangle, 12x10. Cut into rectangles,
3x2. Fry 34 at a time until puffed and golden, turning once, 2
minutes. Drain on paper towels.
