Recipe - Fried Apple Turnovers

Categories: None, Fried Apple Turnovers
Ingredients:

2/3 cup Granulated sugar
One half teaspoon Cinnamon
One fourth cup Butter or margarine
2 cup Pared tart apples; cut or sliced up
1 pack Refrigerator biscuits
Icing sugar

Combine the granulated sugar, cinnamon, butter and apples in a saucepan.
Simmer this mixture, stirring it occasionally until the apples are tender.
Separate the biscuits and roll each on to an oval shape, about 5 inches
long. Place 1 tablespoon of the apple filling on One half of the oval, then fold
the dough over the filling and seal the edges with a fork. (Be sure they
are well sealed or the filling will leak out.) Fry the turnovers in 375 oF
hot deep fat for about 1 minute or until golden brown, turning them once.
Drain them and sprinkle them with icing sugar, and serve warm. This recipe
makes 10 turnovers.
