Ingredients:
Fig Raisin Cake recipe makes 1 Batch
1 cup Chopped figs
1 cup Raisins
1 cup Boiling water
One half cup Shortening
1 cup Brown sugar
2 teaspoon Baking powder
2 teaspoon Cinnamon
One fourth teaspoon Salt
2 Eggs, well beaten
2 cup Flour
Pour boiling water over raisins and figs and allow to stand while preparing
other ingredients. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Sift flour,
measure, and sift with baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Add alternately
with fruit mixture to creamed sugar and shortening. Beat thoroughly. Pour
into welloiled loaf pan. Bake in moderate oven (375 F) about 40 minutes.
