Recipe - Fa La La La Las

Categories: Cookie/, Shaped/, Pressed, Fa La La La Las
Ingredients:

1 cup Butter flavored shortening
One half cup Sugar
1 Egg
Three fourths teaspoon Salt
Three fourths teaspoon Vanilla
One half teaspoon Almond extract
2 One fourth cup Flour

Heat oven to 400°. Cream shortening and sugar in large bowl in medium speed
until well blended. Beat in egg, salt, vanilla, and almond extract. Stir in
flour. Place dough in cookie press. Press into desired shapes 2 inches
apart on cooled, ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400° for 5 to 7 minutes or
until set, but not brown. Cool on baking sheet one minute. Remove to
cooling rack.Dough may be tinted using a few drops of food coloring. You
can ice the cookies and decorate if you like. I tint one batch green, put
half a red hot in center. Using the pin wheel press it will look like a
wreath or holly. This is a very pretty cookie. Do not ruin them by letting
them brown.
