Recipe - Easy Spanish Rice

1 cup Uncooked regular rice
1 md Onion; chopped (One half cup)
2 tablespoon Vegetable oil
2 One half cup Water
1 cn (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 small Green bell pepper; chopped
(One half cup)
1 One half teaspoon Salt
Three fourths teaspoon Chili powder
1/8 teaspoon Garlic powder
1. Cook rice and onion in oil in 10inch skillet over medium heat about 3
minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice is golden brown and onion is
tender.
2. Stir in remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and
simmer about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice is tender.
1 Serving: 180 calories (45 calories from fat); 5 g fat (1 g saturated); 0
mg cholesterol; 820 mg sodium; 32 g carbohydrate (1 g dietary fiber); 3 g
protein.
