Recipe - Diamond White Fudge

2 cup Sugar
One half cup Sour cream
1/3 cup Light corn syrup
2 tablespoon Butter
One fourth teaspoon Salt
2 teaspoon Vanilla, rum or brandy
Flavoring
One fourth cup Quartered candied cherries
1 cup Coarsely chopped Diamond
Walnuts
Combine first 5 ingredients; bring to a boil slowly, stirring until sugar
dissolves. Boil, without stirring, over medium heat, to 236 degrees on
thermometer. Remove from heat & let stand 15 minutes; don't stir. Add
flavoring; beat until mixture starts to lose its gloss (about 8 min). Stir
in the candied cherries & nuts and quickly pour into a greased 8 x 8 pan.
Cool completely and cut into squares. Yield: 1 One half pounds Source:
