Recipe - Date And Nut Biscuits

2 cup Sifted bread flour
One half teaspoon Salt
3 teaspoon Baking powder
One fourth cup Shortening
Three fourths cup Milk
One half cup Chopped dates
One half cup Chopped nuts
These are from The Gold Cook Book.
1. Mix flour, salt and baking powder. Sift.
2. Cut in shortening with 2 knives until the consistency of coarse
cornmeal.
3. Stir in the milk, a little at a time, to make a soft dough.
4. Add nuts and dates.
5. Turn out onto slightly floured board and knead for One half min.
6. Roll to 1/2" thickness.
7. Cut in 2" rounds with floured cutter.
8. Place on an ungreased sheet.
9. Bake at 450 degrees for 1215 min. Posted to TNT Prodigy's Recipe
