Recipe - Date Sauce

One half cup Dates, stoned
2 tablespoon Raisins, Seedless
1 teaspoon Cumin, ground
1 teaspoon Chile powder
1 teaspoon Tamarind Pulp
One half cup Cold water
Three fourths teaspoon Salt; or to taste
1 teaspoon Brown sugar, soft
1. Put all the ingredients in a food processor & add half the water. Switch
on & when the ingredients are half ground add the remaining water & blend
until fairly smooth.
2. Pour the sauce into a strainer & push it through with a metal spoon
until a dry & coarse mixture is left in the sieve discard this mixture &
transfer sauce to a serving bowl. Garnish with cut or sliced up dates, if desired.
