Recipe - Date Nut Torte

1/3 cup Sifted allpurpose flour
One half teaspoon Baking powder
One fourth teaspoon Salt
1 cup Dates
Three fourths cup Nuts
1 teaspoon Grated lemon peel
3 Egg yolks
Three fourths cup Sugar
3 Egg whites
Preheat oven to 325. Sift flour with baking powder & salt. Add dates, nuts
& lemon peel. Toss well. Beat egg yolks with One half cup sugar until very thick
& light. Fold in flour mixture. Beat egg whites & add remaining sugar. Fold
flour mixture into egg whites until combined. Bake 50 minutes in 8x8inch
pan. Serve with whipped cream.
