Recipe - Date Nut Cookies

1 cup Shortening
2 cup Brown sugar
2 Egg
To above mix
One half cup Water
1 teaspoon Vanilla
In another bowl mix;
3 One half cup Flour
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Baking soda
1/8 teaspoon Cinnamon
Mix well, then combine bowls
Filling; cook until thick,
stir constantly
2 cup Dates chopped
Three fourths cup Sugar
Three fourths cup Water
When thick add
1 cup Pecans chopped

drop 1 teaspoon dough, add One half teaspoon filling and One half teaspoon dough on
top. Bake at 375
