Recipe - Cyns Lentil Soup

1 Bag dried lentils; rinsed &
drained
1 cup Each minced carrots; celery,
onion
1 tablespoon Minced garlic
6 tablespoon (or maybe more) veggie broth
powder
Thyme
Crushed cumin seed
Bay leaves
Pepper
1 cn (large) tomato paste
3 tablespoon Garam masala; or more
Lots of water; (to cover, I
kept adding)
Simmer for 12 hours, throw in a cup or so of rice. Add more water as rice
swells, and more seasoning to taste. Hot sauce is a good thing. Simmer
until rice is done. Eat and accept the awed compliments of noncooks. :)
