Recipe - Creme De Menthe Squares

BOTTOM LAYER
One half cup Butter or margarine
One half cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
One half cup Powdered sugar
1 Beaten egg
1 teaspoon Vanilla
2 cup Graham cracker crumbs
MIDDLE LAYER
One half cup Butter or margarine
3 cup Powdered sugar
1/3 cup Creme de menthe
TOP LAYER
One fourth cup Butter or margarine
1 One half cup Semisweet chocolate chips

Bottom layer: In saucepan combine One half c. of the butter or margarine and the
cocoa powder. Heat and stir till well blended. Remove from heat; add One half c.
of the powdered sugar, the egg, and vanilla. Stir in graham cracker crumbs.
Mix well. Press into the bottom of an ungreased 13x9x2inch baking pan.
Middle layer: Melt another One half c. of the butter. In small mixer bowl
combine melted butter and creme de menthe. At low speed of mixer beat in
the remaining 3 c. powdered sugar till smooth. Spread over chocolate layer.
Chill 1 hour.
Top layer: In small saucepan combine the remaining One fourth c. butter and
chocolate pieces. Cook and stir over low heat till melted. Spread over mint
layer. Chill 1 to 2 hours. Cut in small squares. Store in refrigerator.
