Recipe - Creamy Garlic Angel Hair Pasta

One half cup Butter or Margarine;
Softened
8 ounce Cream Cheese; Softened
One fourth cup Fresh parsley; Chopped
1 teaspoon Dried Basil
One fourth teaspoon Salt
One half teaspoon Pepper
8 ounce Angel Hair Pasta; (Or Thin
Spaghetti)
1 Clove Garlic; Peeled and
Crushed
One half cup Butter or Margarine
One half cup Parmesan Cheese; Freshly
Grated
2/3 cup Water; boiling
One half cup Parmesan Cheese; Freshly
Grated
Today's recipe is a simple pasta side dish that makes a perfect replacement
for what would be a hohum serving of mashed potatoes. The flavor creamy
garlic flavor complements most chicken and beef main courses and only takes
about 20minutes to prepare!

In a small mixing bowl beat One half cup soft butter or margarine and cream
cheese together until well blended. Stir in parsley, basil, salt and
pepper. Set aside.
Cook pasta in plenty of boiling water until al dente. Drain and return to
cooking pot. Cook garlic slowly in the second One half cup butter or margarine
for about 2minutes, while the pasta is cooking. Add to the cooked pasta
and toss together with 2 forks over low heat until very hot. Remove from
heat and add One half cup parmesan cheese, then toss again. Turn mixture out
onto a serving plate and keep hot.
Add boiling water to cream cheese mixture and blend well. Pour over pasta
and sprinkle with the additional One half cup parmesan cheese. Serve
immediately.
