Recipe - Crackling Corn Bread

1 One half cup Cornmeal
One half teaspoon Salt
2 tablespoon Flour
2 teaspoon Sugar
1 Egg, well beaten
3 teaspoon Baking powder
1 One fourth cup Milk
1 One half cup Cracklings
Add flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt, baking powder, egg, and milk. Add
cracklings. Beat thoroughly. Bake in welloiled shallow pan in hot oven
(450ø F) about 20 minutes, or drop by teaspoonfuls on a hot welloiled
griddle. Fry until golden brown. 6 servings. Virginia Cooper, New
