Recipe - Cowboy Cake

2 One half cup Flour
2 cup Brown sugar
One half teaspoon Salt
2/3 cup Shortening
2 teaspoon Baking powder
One half teaspoon Soda
One half teaspoon Cinnamon
One half teaspoon Nutmeg
1 cup Sour milk
2 Eggs; (well beaten)
Additional cinnamon
Blend flour, sugar, salt, and shortening until mixture resembles fine
crumbs. Reserve One half cup for topping. Add baking powder and spices; mix
well. Add milk and eggs; mix well. Place in 2 cake pans or one 13 x 9inch
pan and sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Sprinkle One half teaspoon cinnamon and
chopped nuts on top. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes for layers or
40 minutes for loaf.
