Recipe - Cottage Pudding

1 cup Sugar
One half cup Butter
1 Egg
1 cup Milk
2 One half cup Flour
4 teaspoon Baking powder
One fourth teaspoon Salt
Cream the butter and sugar and add the well beaten egg. Mix well. Sift the
dry ingredients and add alternately with the milk to the first mixture.
Pour into a wellgreased cake pan and bake at 350F for 35 minutes. Cut in
squares and serve with Pudding Sauce. Source: Pennsylvania Dutch Cook Book
