Recipe - Corn-Meal Waffles

1 One half cup Cornmeal
One half cup White flour
3 teaspoon Baking powder
Three fourths cup Melted shortening
1 Egg, well beaten
1 cup Milk
One half teaspoon Salt
1 tablespoon Sugar
Combine egg, shortening, milk, and cornmeal. Sift flour, measure, and
sift with baking powder, salt, and sugar. Add to first mixture. Beat until
smooth. Bake in hot waffle iron. 4 servings. Mrs. Anne Payson, Haswell,
