Recipe - Cold Water Cake

2 cup White sugar
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Nutmeg
1 teaspoon Cloves
2 tablespoon Shortening
1 pound Muscat raisins
2 cup Cold water
3 cup Flour
1 teaspoon Soda
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 teaspoon Salt

Put first 7 ingredients in saucepan, stir and boil 5 minutes. Let cool. Add
the vanilla then the flour, soda and salt witch have been sifted together.
Add cherries and nuts , I use small bottle of cherries and a half cup of
chopped nuts and I also add at least a cup of regular raisins.
