Recipe - Coconut Apricot Strips

One half cup Shortening (half butter)
One half cup Confectioners sugar
2 Egg yolks
1 cup Flour
One half cup Thick apricot preserves
One half cup Thick pineapple preserves
Coconut Meringue
Heat oven to 350. Mix shortening, sugar & yolks thoroughly. Stir
flour into sugar mixture. Press & flatten to cover bottom of
ungreased oblong pan, 13*9 1/2*2". Bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven
& spread preserves, then with Meringue. Return to oven; bake about 20
minutes, until Meringue is golden brown. Cool slightly; cut into
small bars.
