Recipe - Cinnamon Raisin Cake

2 One half cup Flour
One half cup Sugar
Three fourths cup Brown sugar
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Baking soda
1 teaspoon Salt
Three fourths teaspoon Cinnamon
Three fourths teaspoon Allspice
One half teaspoon Cloves
One fourth teaspoon Nutmeg
1 1/3 cup Buttermilk (or 3 tbs vinegar
plus milk to fill)
One half cup Shortening
3 Eggs
1 cup Raisins
1 cup Walnuts
BROWN BUTTER ICING
2/3 cup Butter
1 pound Confectioners sugar
3 teaspoon Vanilla
4 (up to)
8 tablespoon Hot water (to consistency)

Mix all cake ingredients. Bake at 350 deg. for 45 minutes.
Brown butter icing: Melt 2/3 cup butter until brown. Remove from heat and
stir in remaining ingredients.
