Recipe - Chocolate Squares

Three fourths cup Sugar
One half cup Butter; room temperature
2 Eggs
One half cup Unbleached allpurpose
flour, sifted
1 ounce Unsweetened chocolate;
melted
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 cup Chopped walnuts or pecans;
optional
Preheat the oven to 350°. Lightly butter an 8inch square pan. In a
mediumsize bowl, cream the sugar and butter. Add the eggs and mix well.
Gradually add the flour, incorporating well. Add the melted chocolate,
vanilla and nuts. Stir just to combine.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes. Allow to
cool in the pan, then cut into squares.
