Recipe - Chocolate Brownies

One half cup Shortening
1 One fourth cup Cake flour
1 cup Granulated sugar
One half teaspoon Cinnamon
2 ounce Unsweetened chocolate
One half cup Milk melted
2 Eggs well beaten
One half cup Chopped walnuts (optional)
One half teaspoon Salt
Work shortening with a spoon until fluffy and creamy. Gradually add sugar,
while continuing to work with a spoon until light. Add melted chocolate
and eggs and blend well. Sift together the dry ingredients and add
alternately with milk, to which the vanilla has been added. Add nuts and
mix thoroughly. Bake on a waffle iron. Makes 6 waffles. Serve topped with
vanilla or coffee ice cream. They are quite rich.
