Recipe - Chocolate-Almond Pie

1 cup Flour
Three fourths cup Sugar
1 teaspoon Baking powder
One half teaspoon Salt
1/3 cup Melted butter
One half cup Milk
One half teaspoon Almond extract
2 Eggs
1 Unbaked pie shell in glass

Sauce:
2 Squares unsweetened
chocolate; ( 1 ounce)
Three fourths cup Boiling water
1 cup Sugar
1/3 cup Butter
One half cup Chopped almonds
Chocolate shavings for
garnish
Whipped cream for garnish
Preheat oven to 350. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Combine butter, milk, and extract. Add dry ingredients to wet and beat 2
minutes. Add eggs and beat 2 minutes longer. Pour into unbaked pie shell.
Melt chocolate in boiling water. Add sugar and bring to a boil. Remove from
heat and add butter and vanilla. Pour sauce over pie batter. Sprinkle nuts
over the top. Bake 5560 minutes or until done. Garnish with whipped cream
and chocolate shavings.
