Recipe - Chick Peas Italiano

1 tablespoon Vegetable oil + 1 tsp
1 One half cup Onions; chopped in large
chunks
1 One half cup Green pepper; chopped in
large chunks
2 Garlic cloves; finely
chopped
1 pound Chick peas, canned; rinsed,
drained
1 pound Tomatoes, canned, undrained;
chopped
8 ounce Tomato sauce, salt free or
regular
One half teaspoon Oregano
One half teaspoon Basil
Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add onions, green
pepper and garlic. Cook until onions are lightly browned, 10 to 15 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients, mixing well. Cover, reduce heat to low, and cook
20 minutes.
Spoon over noodles or rice.
