Recipe - Cherry-Plum Slump

2 cup Sliced; pitted prunes
1 cup Pitted sweet cherries
One fourth cup Sugar
Three fourths cup Allpurpose flour
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon Salt
3 tablespoon Butter or margarine
1/3 cup Milk
In a 3quart saucepan combine fruit, One half cup of the sugar, and One fourth cup
water. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Meanwhile for dumplings, stir
together flour, One fourth cup remaining sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and 1/8
teaspoon salt. Cut in butter to resemble coarse crumbs. Add milk, stirring
just to moisten. Spoon dough in 6 mounds atop hot filling. Cover and simmer
about 15 minutes or till toothpick inserted in the dumplings comes out
clean. Serve warm. Makes 6 servings.
