Recipe - Charmin Cherry Bars

Ingredients:

1 cup Pillsbury's Best AllPurpose
Flour*, sifted
One fourth cup Confectioners' sugar
One half cup Butter
One fourth cup Pillsbury's Best AllPurpose
Flour*
Three fourths cup Sugar
One half teaspoon Doubleacting baking powder
One fourth teaspoon Salt
2 Eggs; slightly beaten
One half cup Maraschino cherries; finely
cut
One half cup Coconut
One half cup Funsten's Walnuts; chopped

BAKE at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, then for 30 to 40 minutes. MAKES 3
dozen. Sift together the 1 cup flour with the confectioners' sugar. Cut n
butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press mixture firmly into
ungreased 11 x 7 or 9 x 9 inch pan. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 10
minutes. Sift together into mixing bowl One fourth cup flour, sugar, baking
powder, and salt. Add eggs. Stir in maraschino cherries, coconut, and
walnuts. Spread over partiallybaked mixture. Bake in moderate oven (350
degrees) 30 to 40 minutes. Cool; cut into bars. *For use with Pillsbury's
Best SelfRising Flour, omit baking powder and salt.
