Recipe - Carmelettes

Categories: None, Carmelettes
Ingredients:

1 cup Flour
1 cup Rolled oats
Three fourths cup Packed brown sugar
One half teaspoon Baking soda
One fourth teaspoon Salt
Three fourths cup Butter or margarine;
softened
1 cup Chocolate chips
One half cup Chopped walnuts
Three fourths cup Smucker's caramel topping

Take 3 Tbs of flour and set aside. In a large bowl combine 1 cup of flour,
rolled oats, brown sugar, soda, salt, and butter. Blend well to form crumbs.
Press half of mixture (reserving the other half) into bottom of 11"x 7" or
9" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

Remove from oven sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. Blend caramel
topping with flour, pour caramel mixture back and forth over chocolate.
Sprinkle with remaining crumbs. Continue baking for 15 to 20 minutes more
or until golden brown. Chill for 1 to 2 hours. Then cut into bars.

Makes 24 bars.

Note: Wait till these are completely cooled before eating, they are not as
good warm. Believe me, I couldn't wait to try them and they definitely
taste much better when they were cooled down.
