Recipe - Caramel Refrigerator Cookies

One half cup Shortening (part butter)
1 cup Brown sugar
1 Egg
One half teaspoon Vanilla
1 Three fourths cup Flour
One half teaspoon Soda
One fourth teaspoon Salt

Mix shortening, sugar, egg & vanilla. Stir in flour, soda & salt.
Wrap in wax paper. Chill until firm. Heat oven to 400. Cut in 1/8"
slices. Place on ungreased sheet. Bake 810 minutes.
