Recipe - Candied Yam With Coconut

3 md Louisiana yams
1/3 cup Brown sugar; firmly packed
One half cup Hot water
One fourth teaspoon Salt
3 tablespoon Butter or margarine; melted
One fourth cup Coconut; shredded
Cook yams in skins until nearly tender. Peel and halve. Arrange in greased
shallow 1quart baking pan. Combine sugar, water, salt, and butter; pour
over yams. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 15 minutes, basting
occasionally. Sprinkle top with coconut; bake 10 minutes longer, or until
lightly browned.
