Recipe - Calico Apple Cake

One half cup Shortening
Three fourths cup Granulated Sugar
2 Eggs
2 cup Flour
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
One half teaspoon Salt
One half teaspoon Nutmeg
1 cup Canned Applesauce
1 pack SemiSweet Chocolate Bits
One half cup Raisins
One half cup Chopped Nuts

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat. Add dry ingredients
alternately with applesauce and beat. Add remaining ingredients and mix.
Bake in a greased 13 x 9 x 3 inch pan in a 350 degree oven for 40 minutes.
Cool in pan and sift confectioner's sugar lightly over the top
