Recipe - Cabbage Lasagna

2 pound Ground beef
1 Onion; chopped
1 Green pepper; chopped
1 Medium head cabbage;
shredded
1 teaspoon Orgeano
1 teaspoon Salt
1/8 teaspoon Pepper
18 ounce Tomato paste; OR
Tomato paste with Italian
seasonings
8 ounce Mozzarella cheese; cut or sliced up *
* delicious using half Provolone cheese, half mozzarella cheese. Saute
ground beef, onion and green pepper until meat is brown. Drain well.
Meanwhile, boil cabbage until tender, 25 minutes. Combine 2 cup of liquid
form cabbage with oregano, salt, pepper and tomato paste. Simmer or
Microwave for 5 minutes. Add meatvegetables mixture. Simmer for 5 minutes
more. Spoon half of the tomatomeat mixture into a 13x9" pan. Layer
welldrained cabbage on sauce then rest of sauce. Top with cut or sliced up cheese to
cover. Bake at 400 F. for 2540 minutes. Cheese can be added during last
510 minutes . Can Microwave for a while and then finish in oven, to cut
down cooking time.
