Recipe - Butterscotch Wheat Germ Brownies

One fourth cup Canola oil
1 cup Light brown sugar
2 Eggs (use equivalent egg
Substitute)
2 teaspoon Vanilla
1 cup Wheat germ
One half cup Powdered milk
One half teaspoon Baking powder
One fourth teaspoon Salt
One half cup Broken walnut or
Pecan meats
Yield: Makes 16 2"squares
A quickandeasy one bowl recipe
Preheat oven to 350° F. Using Microwave oven, melt shortening in the mixing
bowl. Add molasses, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Stir well. Sift in powdered
milk, baking powder, and salt. Add wheat germ and nut meats. Stir only
enough to blend, about 20 strokes. Line pan with waxed paper, mitering
corners. Spread dough in pan and bake 2530 minutes at 350° F. Turn out of
pan, remove wax paper immediately, and cut into bars or squares while warm.
