2 One half cup All purpose flour
1 cup Granulated sugar
Three fourths cup Brown sugar; packed
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Soda
1 teaspoon Salt
Three fourths teaspoon Cinnamon
Three fourths teaspoon Allspice
One half teaspoon Cloves
One half teaspoon Nutmeg
1 1/3 cup Buttermilk
One half cup Shortening
3 Eggs

Grease and flour 2 round layer pans, 8 or 9 inch. Measure all ingredients
into large mixer bowl. Blend One half minute on low speed, scraping bowl
occasionally. Pour into pans. Bake in preheated 350F oven for 45 minutes or
until wooden toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes and remove
from pans.
