Recipe - Bucks Country Spareribs

2 One half pound Spareribs
1 teaspoon Salt
One fourth teaspoon Pepper
1 pound Can sauerkraut; drained
1 Apple; cored, minced w/ peel
1 tablespoon Sugar
Cut spareribs into servingsize pieces. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Place on rack in baking pan. Brown in 400 F oven for 15 minutes; turn and
brown on other side (about 10 or 15 minutes. Pour off drippings. Spoon
sauerkraut into bottom of slowcooking pot. Top with apple, sprinkle sugar
over the apple, and put the ribs on top. cover pot and cook on low for 6 to
8 hours or until meat is tender.
