Recipe - Blackeyed Peas Vegetarian

16 ounce Dried blackeyed peas; soaked
overnight*
6 cup Water
5 Cloves garlic; minced
1 md Onion; chopped, I used
dehydrated onion flakes
1 pn Allspice
1 pn Cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon Soy sauce; to 2 tbsp
* You can use canned blackeyed peas if you wish.
Put the soaked blackeyed peas, water, garlic, and onion in a large
pot. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, cover, and simmer until
tender, about 1 One half 2 hours.
When tender, add the allspice, cayenne, and soy sauce. Heat for 15 20
minutes to let the flavors meld.
