One fourth cup Sugar
One fourth cup Water
One half small Fresh red or green Thai
chili; halved lengthwise,
(wear rubber gloves)
One half Navel orange; zest of,
removed with a vegetable
peeler
1 1inch piece fresh ginger
root; peeled and cut or sliced up
1 One fourth ounce (2 One half tablespoons)
Stolichnaya Ohranj or other
orangeflavored vodka
One half cup Chilled club soda
GARNISH
Orange twist
Here's a recipe I found on rec.food.recipes, anyone else have recipes for
chile cocktails?
In a small pan bring sugar, water, chili, zest, and ginger root to a slow
boil over low heat. Cool syrup slightly and pour through a fine sieve into
a small bowl.
In a cocktail shaker combine 1 teaspoon syrup, reserving remainder for
another use, with vodka and club soda and shake well. Pour mixture into a
wine glass filled halfway with ice and garnish with orange twist.
Makes 1 drink.
