Recipe - Big E Apple Crisp

FILLING:
4 cup Sliced Cortland apples
One half cup Sugar
One half teaspoon Cinnamon
TOPPING:
1 cup Brown sugar
1 One fourth cup Flour
1 cup Rolled oats
One half teaspoon Salt
One half cup Butter
1/3 cup Shortening
Place apples mixed with sugar and cinnamon in the bottom of a greased
10by6by 1 1/2inch baking pan. Combine brown sugar and sifted
flour, oats and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter and shortening as for
pastry and sprinkle over apples. Bake at 375 for 40 minutes or until
crisp and brown.
This will be featured at the Eastern States Exposition in West
Springfield, Mass. Sept.1329,1996....
