Recipe - Beef Montparnasse

2 pound Round steak; in serv. size
pieces
2 tablespoon Shortening
2 sl Bacon; crumbled
6 small White onions or 1 onion in
wedges
6 New potatoes peeled
2 cn Mushrooms; with liquid, 3
oz. cans
One half cup Dry white wine or chicken
broth
1 tablespoon Minced parsley
2 teaspoon Salt
One half teaspoon Pepper
1 Bay leaf
Heat pressure cooker. Add shortening; brown steak. Add remaining
ingredients. Close cover securely. Place pressure regulator on vent pipe.
Cook for 15 minutes (I think maybe this was a little too long...either that
or my pressure cooker just took to long to get up to pressure). Let
pressure drop of its own accord. Remove bay leaf. Thicken gravy, if
desired.
