Recipe - Aunt Linas Carrot Cake

1 1/3 cup Sugar
1 1/3 cup Water
1 cup Seeded raisins
2 tablespoon Butter
2 lg Carrots; grated
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Cloves
1 teaspoon Nutmeg
1 cup Walnuts
1 pn Salt
2 cup Flour
2 tablespoon Baking soda
Put sugar, water, raising, butter, carrots, cinnamon, cloves & nutmeg into
a saucepan & boil slowly for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat & allow to
become perfectly cold. NEVER USE WHILE STILL WARM! Then add walnuts, salt,
flour & baking soda. Bake very slowly in a loaf pan for about 1One half hours.
