Recipe - Aunt Lauras Chocolate Cake

3 Squares chocolate
Three fourths cup Boiling water or coffee;
or combination
3 Eggs; well beaten
2 One fourth cup Sugar
Three fourths cup Butter
1 pn Salt
1 One half teaspoon Vanilla
1 One half (up to)
1 Three fourths cup Buttermilk
1 One half teaspoon Soda
2 One fourth cup Sifted flour
1 Square chocolate; melted
Melt 3 squares chocolate in water. Cool. Combine eggs, sugar, salt and
butter. Add chocolate mixture, vanilla, buttermilk and soda. Add flour.
Pour into three 8 or 9inch pans. Bake at 375 about 30 minutes. Cool and
ice with Colonnade Icing (see Index). Dribble 1 square chocolate over top
and sides.
