Recipe - Apricot Coconut Squares

1 cup Sugar
2 cup Flour
Three fourths cup Butter
1 cup Coconut; flaked
1 Egg
One fourth teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 Jar; (10 oz.) apricot
preserves
Notes: Peka Joe Daniels, Lansford, The Times, PA
Mix together with fork all ingredients, except apricot preserves. Press 3/4
of the batter in the bottom of a 9x13" pan. Spread apricot preserves on
top. Spread rest of batter over apricot preserves with fork, letting some
of the apricot show through. Bake at 350° for 2530 minutes until a light
golden brown. Cool and cut into squares.
