Recipe - An African Vegetarian Stew

4 small Kohlrabies or parsnips;
peeled and cut into chunks
One half cup Couscous or Bulgar Wheat
1 lg Onion; chopped
One fourth cup Raisins; dark or golden
2 Sweet Potatoes; peeled and
chunked
2 Chopped habaneros; or to
taste
1 teaspoon Ground Coriander
One half teaspoon Ground Turmeric
2 Zucchini; cut or sliced up thick
One half teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
5 Tomatoes; fresh OR 16 0z can
tomatoes, drained
One half teaspoon Ground Ginger
One fourth teaspoon Ground Cumin
15 ounce Can Garbanzo beans;
(chickpeas), drained
3 cup Water
Combine all the ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil,
lower the heat, and simmer until the vegetables are tender, about 30
minutes. Note: Serve the couscous separately, if desired.
