Recipe - All-Purpose Mix

MIX INGREDIENTS
9 cup Sifted allpurpose flour
1 tablespoon Salt
2 cup Crisco shortening
3 tablespoon Baking powder
One fourth cup Sugar
FOR BISCUITS
3 cup Mix
2/3 cup Milk
FOR PANCAKES
3 cup Mix
1 cup Milk
2 Eggs
FOR CHEESE BISCUITS
3 cup Mix
2/3 cup Milk
One half cup Grated American cheese
1 teaspoon Paprika
FOR MUFFINS
3 cup Mix
1 cup Milk
1 Egg
2 tablespoon Sugar
Stir baking powder, salt & sugar into flour. Sift together 3 times into
large mixing bowl. Cut in shortening with pastry blender until mix is
consistency of cornmeal. Store in a tightly covered container at room
temperature. To measure mix, pile it lightly into a standard cup & level
off with a spatula. BISCUITS; Stir ingredients & roll as for other
biscuits. Bake at 450 until done. PANCAKES: Stir ingredients together &
grill as usual. CHEESE BISCUITS: Mix ingredients, bake as for biscuits.
MUFFINS: Mix & bake at 425.
