Recipe - Adas Molasses Nut Bread

2 Three fourths cup Flour; sifted allpurpose
2 teaspoon Baking powder
One fourth teaspoon Soda
One half teaspoon Salt
One fourth cup Sugar
One half cup Nut meats; chopped
One half cup Seedless raisins
Three fourths cup Molasses
1 Egg; beaten
One fourth cup Shortening; melted or oil
2 teaspoon Grated orange rind
Mix together and sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt and sugar into
a mixing bowl; add nut meats and raisins and mix together. Combine the
milk, molasses, egg, shortening and orange rind; add to dry mixture and
stir only enough to dampen flour. Bake in a greased bread pan, 10x5x3
inch, in a moderate oven, 350 degrees F., for 1 One fourth hours.
This recipe makes a large loaf of fruit bread.
